TFS Energy Hires Joe Jefferson for Its U.S. Coal Desk
NEW YORK, January 6, 2006 – TFS Energy, a leading interdealer broker and subsidiary of Compagnie Financičre Tradition, today announced its U.S. coal desk has hired Joe Jefferson, an industry-recognized marketer who has been active in the coal industry since 1975. Joe brings a diverse background in domestic and international coal sales and transport that will be an unrivaled resource for TFS’s client base. Having lived and worked in the major coal regions of the US such as the Powder River Basin, the Illinois Basin, and Central Appalachia, Joe is establishing a TFS field office on the Kentucky/West Virginia border, at the critical shipping intersection of the Ohio and Big Sandy River Districts. Joe joins TFS from Progress Fuels Corporation, where he was Director of Coal Sales for the last decade, and will be working with Brian Carroll, Joseph Cacioppo and Eric Klein of the New York office.

Cyprus Amax Coal Company. He is a member of the National Mining Association, North
Carolina Coal Institute and the Lexington Coal Exchange.
